Maddie Harris - Director and Founder
Maddie Harris is the Director and Founder of Humans for Rights Network, founded in 2017 after 2 years working in the camps at the UK Border in Northern France. Maddie has conducted cross border work with people forced to migrate and subjected to hostile border regimes in France and Belgium for almost 10 years, initially as an independent volunteer in Dunkirk, France and Thessaloniki, Greece, before setting up Humans for Rights Network in 2017. HFRN was founded after Maddie witnessed countless rights violations in camps in Europe, and was struck by the lack of evidence gathering provision, with grass roots organisations and migrants working together to provide humanitarian assistance and other forms of support, there was little capacity to focus on tackling strategic issues and systemic abuse.
